Years ago, photographers only offered what we now call the "traditional" style. Photographing a wedding in the "traditional" style means that most of the pictures are formally posed. Due to the amount of time required to pose individuals and groups, the photographer usually starts work two to three hours before the ceremony.
Several years ago a great photographer named Dennis Reggie (I give credit where credit is due) began offering a style of wedding photography called "photojournalism". This style is now well known and has become very popular. Our studio has combined both styles into what we call PhotoNouveau. Classical poses blended with hundreds of well composed candids (it is much harder than it looks) will give you the best of both worlds.
